The researchers paid attention to the mechanism of aging with advancing age. Exercise
training is thought as one of the most effective means putting off the occurrence
of aging, and many works has shown that regular moderate training may promote
the immune function and reduce the blood viscosity in aged subjects.
There
were fewer researches about the influence of Taijiquan on hemorrheology and immune
function. The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of Taijiquan on interleukin-2
(IL-2) concentration.
Sixteen health women (ages 55-65yr) were assigned to
exercise group(n=10) and control group(n=6). The subjects of exercise group practised
Taijiquan of 24 style everyday from 6:00-7:00. The experiment lasted 6 months.
The control group subjects didn't take part in any exercise except daily life.
There
findings:
1) The resting NK cell number and IL-2 concentration were increased
after six months .
2) There was great changes in NK cell number and IL-2 concentration
before and after one hour Taijiquan exercise.
